March 2026 We hosted a Yeast Feast, Bread Bonanza, Chametz Jamboree at Pour Taproom on the BeltLine with our friends at B3. Beer, pizza, garlic bread… carbs before the storm (of Passover). It was a rockin' Grain Finale (hee hee)!
March 2026 Famed bookstore Politics & Prose described Nick Lemann's Returning as "compulsive, shattering, if not fundamentally disruptive." We concur! This fascinating conversation explored Southern Jews through Lemann's family history—but best of all was hearing personal tales from the audience. Our Atlanta Jewish community is full of interesting, quirky, and wonderful stories. What a delight to hear some of them!
March 2026 We knew this important film captured much of the tensions of the Jewish community here and in Israel: from the trauma of Oct 7 to its impact on all of us — from every side of the political spectrum. We were honored to partner with Atlanta Jewish Film and The Breman to host extended screenings beyond the AJF Festival with additional Q+As with producer Lance Kramer.
February 2026 We love to see Jewish ritual reinvented for our times. This Tu B'Shvat Seder included local speakers who are making a difference in Georgia — and we got to hear from them while feasting on farm-to-table veggies. It was delicious, and insightful — just as any Seder should be!
January 2026 A daring photographer prepares for his greatest challenge in this extraordinary true-life adventure. Leesa Carter-Jones, CEO of Atlanta's Captain Planet Foundation, led a lively talk-back.
December 2025 This was one for the ages! The Fifth Night of Hanukah at Ponce City Market. A major public celebration on the BeltLine that attracted a cross section of intown Atlanta 150 people strong. The party featured small plates from around the Jewish diaspora courtesy of top Jewish chefs (including Todd Ginsburg, Tal Baum, Liat Tzionov). We loved working with partners at The Breman, AJC ACCESS Atlanta, and Bayit Ba’BeltLine — and especially the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, Tel Aviv. A time was had!
December 2025 Watching the making of the iconic film version of Fiddler on the Roof was pure joy. This was the second of three films we screened in advance the 2026 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival — and it as a packed house. Director Daniel Reim and Professor Matthew Bernstein joined for a Q+A after the screening.
December 2025 We think Black and Jewish communities have more in common than not; we think relationships are strengthened over a good meal; and we think really good wines make an evening better. Which why we teamed up with Van Jones and the Exodus Leadership Forum to host on evening for Black and Jewish cultural leaders over dinner at The Third Space in Old Fourth Ward. The conversation is not always easy but we can say with full confidence that it was entirely worth it. And we are already planning the next one.
November 2025 An in-depth conversation with the Jewish and Palestinian co-CEOs of The Abraham Initiatives, the CEO of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, and the Board Chair of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute. The event was a sophisticated conversation about the complexities of shared society in Israel.
November 2025 We welcomed a one-of-a-kind performance to The Breman. Think: The Moth Radio Hour Live meets This American Life … with prestigious recognition from the Tribeca Film Festival and the Covenant Foundation thrown in.
October 2025 We joined forces with The Breman and the Atlanta Film Society to welcome Israeli filmmaker Yael Melamede back to Atlanta with her award-winning movie, ADA: My Mother the Architect. The screening was followed by a lively talk-back on women in architecture, mothers and daughters, and how it feels to make a movie about your family.
September 2025 Our Summerhill Dinner Party was a sold-out intergenerational evening at Woods Chapel BBQ featuring James Beard Award-winning author Michael Twitty in collaboration with hometown heroes and Michelin Guide and James Beard semifinalists Chef Todd Ginsberg and Chef Duane Nutter. The event brought together over 115 people from diverse backgrounds to explore the intersection of African American and Jewish culinary traditions. You've heard people say food is identity… well, they're right!
September 2025 The Atlanta Opera and The Alliance Theater's ultimate collab was the perfect lead-in for a community conversation on history, migration, displacement and tradition, music, and memory.
September 2025 It was hard not to be star struck when we welcomed Israeli Actor Itzik Cohen — aka Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof and Captain Gabi Ayub on Fauda — to Atlanta. He was funny, smart, thoughtful and this intimate conversation with Alliance Theater Artistic Director Chris Moses was fantastic.
August 2025 A topic so important the event sold out twice — and had to move to bigger space. From Rep. Esther Panitch to Rabbi Lydia Medwin… Dr. Mimi Zieman to Allison Korman, The Spring was proud to sit among the luminaries on this panel.
June 2025 Tikkun Leil Shavuot The Spring participated in two Shavuot programs: Samara Minkin delivered a TED (Torah Exploration Discourse) at Chabad Intown and moderated a conversation with American Jewish Committee's Dov Wilker, Anti Defamation League's Eytan Davidson, and JStreet's Emily Kaiman on Jewish Futures for Congregation Shearith Israel. One night; two places; great conversations.
May 2025 Few journalists have been as influential of our understanding of Israel in this moment as Haviv Rettig Gur. From his analysis for The Times of Israel and The Free Press, to his eponymous podcast, his thoughts and perspective and grasp of detail has been invaluable to us. We were thrilled to help bring him to Atlanta for a sold-out conversation.
May 2025 Jason Danino Holt's work is almost impossible to describe. Part theater; part public confession; part improvisational intimacy. For those who like participation, performance, discovery, and revelation, this was an unforgettable evening.
April 2025 Our first dinner party… Earth Day with Adamah! We like few things more than good food, good company, and good conversation. Add in smart Jewish text and learning? A perfect night!
March 2025 Our launch event… we invited CEO of ANU-Museum of the Jewish People, Oded Revivi, to join Samara Minkin for a conversation at The Temple. We heard about ANU's vision for growth, how its programs inspire The Spring, and what it took for ANU to open its doors and welcome community after October 7th.
