A Night of Wine 🍷 , Water 🌊 + Earth 🌍 Wind 💨 and Fire 🔥

February 5, 2026 What a night! Tu B’Shvat with Adamah at The Temple… hard to think of a better combo. We were honored to partner! We heard stories and lessons inspired by the four elements and accompanied by four cups of wine (what is it with seders and four cups?!). There was a beautiful feast and beautiful music. Even better, we celebrated together. Ours is a community that gathers to learn, be inspired, and maybe even change. Rituals that renew and make Judaism relevant to our lives remind us how lucky we are to have these experiences in our tradition. Many thanks to all who came out!

Happy New Year!

January 7, 2026 We are excited for the new season and lots of great programs. Details coming soon on our Tu B'Shvat seder at The Temple alongside Adamah, an organization working at the intersection of environment and Judaism (who better to celebrate the trees and seven species of Israel??). And we’ll keep you posted on our upcoming Sunday program with The Dupree and the Institute for Jewish Spirituality to offer spiritual practice to our community (who doesn’t need more of that?!?). Of course we’ll continue championing great art and films that make us think. We'll continue hosting conversations both large and small with thought leaders on pressing issues. And yes, we'll keep celebrating good food and drink with Atlanta's best chefs! This is our new year's promise: smart and interesting programs with excellent partners.

Rosh Hashanah 5786

September 19, 2025 "The food is an archive, a keeper of secrets" — Michael Twitty Dear Spring Supporters, One of the most memorable events in The Spring's launch season was a recent evening with Michael Twitty, James Beard Award and National Jewish Book Award winner. Michael's vision: a Rosh Hashanah menu rooted in both Jewish and African diaspora traditions. Among the long tables at Wood's Chapel in Summerhill – where Black and Jewish Atlanta has gathered for generations – chefs Todd Ginsberg and Duane Nutter interpreted Michael's menu and shared their impressions of cooking these layered traditions. It was electric. Cocktails reflected the season, gospel and Jewish music provided a backdrop, and Jewish blessings sanctified the evening. Listening to Michael weave stories of resilience and tradition through food, we were struck by something powerful: Here were 120 people from various backgrounds, religions, traditions, and generations, all leaning in with curiosity to learn from each other. When politics at home, in Israel, and across the world feel so unsettling, connecting with intention nourishes our hopefullness. This is what The Spring offers: Visionaries, the bridge-builders, the brave seekers of new possibilities. We're committed to curious, informed, constructive discourse – and yes, to throwing down unforgettable parties with tasty food and drink. Because ideas take root and transformation happens when people gather around tables. The piercing shofar we'll hear this week wakes us up and asks: How are we meeting this moment? At The Spring, we are building. We're creating programs that reflect our community – intellectual, curious, joyful. We are a community of visionaries and builders. We know that we need a hub for Jewish culture and community in Atlanta and we're committed to building just that. One conversation, one event, one spectacular night at a time. Shana tovah u'metukah. May it be a good and sweet year.

Summerhill Dinner Party

September 12, 2025 You brought the Soul, the Chefs brought the Kosher… Thanks for joining our Summerhill Dinner Party!   Last night was smart and interesting and warmly welcoming. Michael Twitty’s menu challenged our expectations by highlighting surprising connections and reminding us of our own expansiveness. If Walt Whitman had been one of the historical figures the Chefs invited to the table, he might have said: We are large, we contain multitudes — and so did that meal. Plus it was delicious! Special thanks to the inimitable Michael Twitty and hometown heroes Chef Todd Ginsberg and Chef Duane Nutter. Thanks too to behind-the-scenes staff at Woods Chapel and Southern National, musicians Melvin Myles and Rabbi Micah Lapidus, Rabbi Ruth Abusch-Magder, partners The Breman, the American Jewish Committee, the Black-Jewish Coalition, and Rough Draft. If you enjoyed yourself, please join us for more and bring your friends! Wishing all of you a Shabbat shalom, a peaceful Sabbath this weekend.
